Hey there! Thanks for stopping by.
I’m Shoshana, a freelance reporter covering consumer privacy and tech policy. Generally, I’m interested on the way major companies earn their big bucks through online advertising, and the way those adtech tools allow redlining and discrimination to persist in the digital age. Prior to freelancing, I was an enterprise reporter for Marketwatch, and an investigative reporter for Gizmodo. And before that, I was Adweek’s platforms reporter, writing investigative features for the site and explainers for the magazine.
In 2018, I graduated NYU’s Science, Health and Environmental Reporting Program, where I didn’t write much about science, health, or the environment, but did write a lot about cybercrime.
Before journalism, I worked as a museum docent, a neuroscience researcher, and a waitress at an upscale restaurant in Tel Aviv.
